Lens InFocus No. 06, on where cBNB’s backing can be checked
- What was wrong
- The episode “Who holds the BNB behind cBNB?” says the vault address isn’t public, so the backing can’t be checked, and it closes by asking whether Nuxaris will publish it. Its page on /lens says the same. The episode also says the vault’s keys sit with Nuxaris’s multisigs.
- What’s right
- The Nethermind audit linked from cbnb.network prints the vault address, 0x38c147415e59196aEBf3010dd0BAA9A7e5Bf9196, and an archived copy shows it did on 8 October 2026, a week before the episode. On 8 November 2026 the vault held 1.5 BNB at BNB Chain block 132,364,459, and the Digital Asset registry reported a supply of 1.5 cBNB. The cBNB docs still say contract addresses are shared on request. On the keys, the audit says three Safe multisigs operate the contracts and doesn’t name their owners, so who holds the keys isn’t established.
- Where it’s fixed
- On the episode’s page, dated 8 November 2026, and in the YouTube description. The video itself still carries the old lines.
- Sources
- Nethermind security review NM-1094, 8 October 2026, sections 1 and 4, and its archived copy of that day. The vault on BSCTrace and the cBNB registry entry. All read on 8 November 2026.
